I just got back from my trip to San Saba. Even though we went only 3 days after the last group of 6 guys that caught over 200 bass, 3 of us from 1 boat caught 105 bass. It’s amazing that this lake keeps on producing the way it does. I did notice that you do have to change presentations and not fish the way the previous group did because many of the fish won’t bite the same bait twice in a 14 day period. This is why it is always good to post your reports so other members know how to prepare for their trip. Fishing pressure in small bodies of water has to be monitored closely and that’s what Steve Alexander is trying to do with our club. Take good care of the fish men. I did notice a lot of fish I caught from Saba had torn up mouths. That makes them prone to disease. No barbs means no barbs… Only barbs tear up fish mouths. Please, let’s all work at taking care of this fantastic fishery.

Hey Waters, You got me this time. The biggest I could manage was a six pounder. I’ll keep trying.

Hope to see a lot of you at the Six-O fish fry. Let’s get out and support the club !!!

I received a call from the landowner today regarding the use of barbless hooks on this lake and it is mandatory. This maybe slightly inconvenient for you, but it can somethimes make the difference in the health and life of a fish. This was brought to our attenttion by hooks left in the boats with mono still on the hook and the hooks did not have a crimped barb. I could not contain the hyper link to show you an article on this but the link is below. It will be mandatory for you to use barbless hooks at San Saba.
