Lures Used : 2.5” Rattle Trap, Strike King 2.5” square bill, 5” wacky rig Senko

First time here and I was on the water at daylight. Spent the first hour cruising around, tossing top waters and learning the lake. Just got Garmin Livescope on the boat this week so I was learning how to read that as well. Nothing much happening in the shallows and I started getting bit on the wacky rig senko on the weed lines.

I was enjoying the steady action with the senko but when I changed to the shad pattern rattle trap and square bill, then it got crazy. I was ripping these rattling lures through the top of the weeds a few feet deep, parallel to the weed line. The best weed lines are in 6-8ft of water on either side of the lake, roughly in line with the overhead power lines. In one spot on the south side, I caught 30-40 fish from the same 100yd stretch, averaging a fish every two casts. I stopped counting when the action got crazy and left at 1:30 but I'm certain you could catch 100 here on a good day  

There were a few fish crashing shad against the bank but I only saw this a couple of times. It's possible they may start doing this more as the water cools.
