Fished on September 30th. First cast from boat ramp was fish on. The day started with a fish on a ribbit. Mostly fished middle lake and shallow end. Not much action at the dam. Top water bite all day long in anything that looked like grass. Water clarity varied from clear to one foot visibility. Also caught a mess on throwing a worm with TR 1/8 oz. Bullet weight. Color didn't matter as we used watermelon, purple, pumpkin, blueberry. All the bass except 2 were 2 to 3 pounds. The lake is loaded with shad that would follow my worm back to boat in schools of 20 to maybe 50 shad. I was hoping to see the bass push them against the shore or schooling bass busting them but it never happened. Later in afternoon bass were chasing skimmer dragon flies. Before the next duck season opens get out to Malouf for some good fun. The water level is good and weeds are not an issue. Didn't fish much in timber as we worked the shoreline and fifteen feet out.

Last Monday I had 50 but maybe ½ were shallow. Rest were out on the grass lines. I did best on a wacky but this lake sounds like they’ll hit a lot of different things. Think I’ll throw a popper this Tues. My one bummer was never getting hit on a spider top water I have. I had one follow it to the boat but that was it.
