My brother and I got an early start at Deer Trail to try and beat the heat.  The morning from 6:00 to 9:30 was pretty hot.  We caught 21 – almost all on frogs and a white/chartreuce chatterbait.  (One on a small KVD 1.5 crankbait and a couple on senkos). Most in the 1.5-2.5 lb range, nothing large, but only 2 culls. They were all on the edge of the grass/lily pads. We took a break for lunch and then came back around 2:00. We fished until 4:30 and it was pretty slow – only picking up 7.  Those were on green pumpkin senkos and a 4in dreamshot deep under the lily pads.  Again, all in the 1.5-2.5 lb range.  We weren’t able to get anything around brush piles.
