Reservation Number : 32389
Property Name : Twin Lakes
Reservation Date : 05/01/2022 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 30 LMB; 6 in 3-5lb and 12 in 1-3lb range
Lures Used : Weightless fluke, swimbait on underspin, squarebill cranks and spook

We had excellent conditions at Twin Lakes – bluebird skies, 80 degrees, and hardly any wind!  We fished an entire day, 7am – 6pm, between both lakes from our kayaks. The bass are definitely in post spawn and have moved off the beds; the action was pretty steady from 7am – noon then slowed until 230/3 when it resumed again for some brief topwater action and a crank bait bite until 6pm.

The East Lake seemed to setup better for us – deeper water, less vegetation/moss/slime and a better bite with bigger fish. All of our large fish came out of the East Lake on a variety of techniques – flukes, keitechs, cranks and spoolk. The West Lake is shallower with clear water and a considerable amount of moss/slime; we fished it for a few hours and caught 10 between two of us, all fish in the 1-3lb range.

Every fish we caught fought extremely hard and the clear water allowed us to see much of the underwater drama. . This property is gorgeous and I would definitely consider camping at the West Lake.

This is one of the properties I often recommend to new members. IMO, if you don’t think you got a good value at Ben Wheeler Twin Lakes, then you probably wont be happy with your membership.
