Rolled onto the this beautiful ranch after stopping for BBQ at Mimsy’s (Top 50 BBQ) in Crockett with my son-in-law and grandson. Mr. Wade stopped by to greet us and we had a very nice chat while rigging up. We thanked him for allowing us to fish this fine property!!!!!
Bluebird skies with 10 mph wind out of the north. Water temp 62f with up to 2ft of clarity. No evidence of bedding bass yet.
We fished from the bank and after a slow start, the action picked up through the afternoon with a hot period from 4-5:30pm. Best fishing was from the east bank.
My son-in-law caught 12 bass up to 18” and a crappie. My grandson reeled in 12 bass including the big bass of the day (20” and 5lbs) and an 18”. He spent the afternon learning how to use a baitcasting set up with a zcraw on a chatterbait and managed to avoid getting a birdsnest! He was so excited and was totally pummped when he landed the big girl!
I managed 6 small bass, mostly culls and a crappie, but my day was made when my grandson caught the big un!
Yet another great day on this great property!
