My wife and I fished Willow Lake Saturday 8/7 AM. The drive up from N Fort Worth was beautiful seeing many deer and other wildlife. We had inteded getting on the water at daylight, but werent 100 percent we were in the right place do too lack of reading on our part. I will say we still never saw the PWF sign on the gate, but knew we were in the coreect spot based on the map. We brought out 17 foot aluminum boat based off reading the bio of this lake. I will say thank goodness for 4x4, and alot of timber laying around! (see pic). Once we got on the water, and destressed lol, we began catching fish. We threw most of our tackle box, but did best on swimabits, crankbaits, and 11 inch green pumpkin worms. We caught fish all around the lake really not finding any pattern. We managed 25 total, 10 culls removed, and 15 over slot. Seven of those being over 3 pounds or better, with my wife landing the biggest again at 4.99lbs. The bigger fish we caught seemed to be long and skinny, but I have no doubt with our culling efforts there will be some monsters in no time. This is a beautiful property and we will most certainly be back. The only impprovement would be additon of a gravel boat lauch in the future.

What a stickler – I am going to say your wife’s catch was a 5lber! Haha! Glad you overcame the early adversity and made it a rewarding day!
