Did the Sulphur Bluff Daily Double (Deer Trail in the morning and Timber Lake in the afternoon) on Saturday 7/24 with Carl Sparks and two of his friends, one who had never caught a bass before!  The action at Deer Trail was steady all morning with lots of top water blow ups and plenty of catches, including 2 nice bass for the guy who hadn’t caught one before 😀.  Most were in the 2-3lb range with 5 culls total.  Got to see a big girl but she got off on a jump…turned out to be a theme for the day.

Lures that worked were frogs, buzz bait, wacky senkos and t-rigged plastics.  Most hookups came on top of the mats or along the weed lines.  The bite slowed as the sun came out and we made our move to Timber Lake around noon.
