Fished Tuesday from 7:30am until dark, with a four-hour break in the middle.  High for the day was 85, water temp was 83 degrees, cloudy/partly cloudy all day. Lake is full and big after lots of rain, but the launch area is solid and not muddy at all.  Water clarity was 30”.  Met the owner and got to learn about his Wagyu cattle.  Impressive!

The bass were scattered and liked a worm more than anything else. The weeds weren’t a serious problem, but Texas rig was the way to go.  Plenty of dragonflies all over the lake, and the bass sometimes came completely out of the water to get them (I tried a tiny buzzbait but they weren’t interested). Many were right on the shore in the weeds, but I also caught several among the trees in the main body of the lake.  The bass all looked healthy, and of the 14 culls there was only one dink.

This was my first trip to this lake, and I’ll be back.  A bonus is that you are only about 15 minutes from town.
