Inspired by others, fellow PWF member Ken Youngblood and I took our turn at Deer Trail under beautiful weather with winds gusting to 10 - 12 mph. Actually seeing three does run into the property on our way in, Ken and I quickly figured out how the lake received its name. We fished from 9am - 4pm with about a 30 minute lunch break. Succesful on soft plastics and crankbaits as reported by others. Frog action was incredibly fun as we tossed frogs into the thickest cover we could find and enjoyed the resulting strikes.  Parts of the lake have heavy vegetation but definitely still fishable.  We culled 6 bass and had a fish fry with our families for dinner...not a single leftover.  Boat was in good shape.
