Beautiful day at Pecan Springs. Launched boat at ,45am and on first cast with white whopper popper caught 3 pounder. Continued to have good success with white and shad poppers. Wind picked up substantially around 2pm and I switched to Texas rig plastic worms. Had best success with watermelon color. Late afternoon I rigged my fly rod using red and white popper and had a blast at the lake’s far end where the wind speed was low. 
Really enjoyed the hawks’ cries and watching the cranes cruising overhead on auto pilot. Terrific day.
