We started our day at Comanche. Loved that the east side of the lake had shade on it till about 10 o'clock.  We fished from the bank during this time. This lake is full of fish that like to bite hooks.  My buddy's first 5 cast resulted in 4 fish caught.  The shoreline was very active till the lake got into full sun.  Shinny spinner baits were popular with the fish when we threw it out to the middle of the lake. Texas rigged brush hogs were what was popular with the shoreline fish. We launched the boat to fish the south side of the dam and the west side.  The bite slowed a bite from 10 to noon, but they were still biting.  We switched to flukes with good success.  The fish size was mainly around a pound to 1.5 pounds. We had about 4-5 just above two pounds. At noon, we had a fish count of 41 and decided to transition to the other lakes.

My buddy couldn't stop talking about how he had never experienced fishing like this. I think was was hooked more than any of the fish that we had just caught.

At Arrowhead, we were greeted by a herd of cattle at the gate and as we drove over the dam, we saw horses running at full sprint through the trees.  We just stopped to enjoy the moment in front of us.  We launched the boat and headed to the south east corner. It is fairly shallow on that side.  We let the wind carry us to the north side of the lake. We drifted throw a lot of coontail. It occupies a fair amount of the middle to east side of the lake. We kept throwing the edges of it and around the timbers with decent success. The fish here are larger than Comanche.  Most everything that caught was over 2 pounds.  The largest that we caught was 3.5 pounds. The west side of the lake is more clear of the coontail and throwing around the timbers was very rewarding. The water visibility was really good. We finished our day around the dam. The catch in this area was more consistent than any other area of the lake. We mainly threw flukes and creature baits rigged Texas style. Our final lake counts was 22.

With a total of 63 fish caught and some very chewed up thumbs we finished our day.  We really enjoyed fishing this property, but enjoyed the catching even more!
