Made it on the water about 6:45 am and fish were blowing up the top of the water on the whole lake for about 30 minutes. iWe threw some topwater plugs but never had any strikes. Resorted to the tried and true Texas rigged creature bait and caught 1 and missed 3. Rigged my younger boy up with a fluke and he landed a 3 pounder. Such a fun time watching the youngsters catch fish. Bite slowed down so rigged up a wacky worm and caught 2 16- inchers. My kid broke one off at the boat with the wacky rig too. We used the 12 foot v-hull and it works well---needs some work to the back end as the board is rotting out and the left back bracket is busted.
