Wife and I fished Live Oak Creek, Valley Mills on Saturday under clear, sunny skies with a constant 18mph SSW wind.  Thankfully lake had one arm that was protected by a tree line.  Water is crystal clear with at least 9 ft viz.  Pretty much covered in sub-surface vegetation.  Between the mile high skies, clear water, heavy weeds, and high winds - it was some work!  And the fishing started slow - BUT finally figured out they'd attack a watermelon/red, soft plastic jerkbait worked with longer intermittent pauses.  That was pretty much the only thing working - maybe one or two on a z-craw and a sm paddletail.  We ended up with 32 landed up to 4lbs 7oz while harvesting 13 of them.  As harvesting kicks in, it will only get better.  They were well underweight for their length.  We caught two that 21'' to 22'' and they were 4-0 and 4-7 with big heads and big tails, but not a whole lot in between.  The ranch road will be muddy after rain events.  This is a beautiful and secluded lake and we are thankful to the owners and PWF for arranging another great property.  Enjoyed seeing the horses, deer, and even turkey.  Blessed to spend the day fishing and picnicking under the oaks!
