46 degrees, intermittent rains, cold wind, bundled up and a couple hundred miles from home, filled with unbridled joy and ever thankful for the owners who share this stunning and resplendently soulful ranch with us.  

Threw top water frogs with the fly rod from the canoe all afternoon, could have caught plenty more subsurface but that’s not my style... prefer it rowdy and wooly on the surface or not at all.  

French-press of sumatran coffee on the tailgate with a slice of leftover peach pie halfway through. A big-legged 4 pounder all hips and lips, the high water mark for today.

Am a peaceful tree-hugger who believes in culling to watch this ecosystem stay healthy and vibrant for the days ahead.  So many days I’ve gotten to roam up here to Laneville to remind me what matters in this fragile, fleeting life of ours....immeasurably THANKFUL for this red dirt back road day, these fish, and kind owners~
