My wife and I fished West lake on Saturday. Conditions were perfect; low 70’s light wind and overcast. We caught 25 in 6 hours fishing, Most in the 2 to 3 pound range. Largest was 4 pounds.  Most of fish were caught on watermelon wacky worms. Had two fish pick it up and swim toward the boat so fast I couldn’t keep up with them. Of course, they were the two giants they got away  ;).  For anyone looking for lodging in East Texas, there’s a fantastic, property between Ben Wheeler in Canton called Wood Haven Cabins.  Classic Country Charm and comfort set on a quiet private lake. We stayed There after fishing all day. And had a killer breakfast at the Forge in Ben Wheeler before heading home. All in all, a perfect trip. My wife loved it
