My son and I fished Old Oaks last Saturday, March 17th, from about 7 AM to 4:30 PM with a break for lunch. Warm weather. Cloudy sky and water. Virtually no visibility in the water. We only caught four, all in the 1 lb range. Two were caught after lunch in the rock lined cove using wacky rigged worms, while the other two were caught in the upper shallow end using a spinner bait and lipless rattle crank bait. We missed two hits on a frog, but other than that nothing. We had no hits on anything around the island. Perhaps if we wore green that day we would have had better luck. Oh well, it was nice getting back out on the lake. We'll be back.
