Spent the night in Henderson on Friday night and looked at the weather report. Slept in a lil bit and got to the lake about 7:30. Man a 32 degree drop in temperature changes everything! Fished deep, fished shallow. Fished moving/chase baits, fished super slow Texas rigged. For the life of me I couldn't develop a pattern. Scattered would be the best I could come up with. Fighting that lil aluminum boat in the wind was challenging. Fished hard through the major feeding period with a little success. Headed to Henderson to eat lunch and regroup. Saw Rocky on the way back in and he assured us there were plenty of fish in that lake and there were some dang good ones in there too. We decided to fish the brush piles slow as the wind died in the afternoon the bite ratio increased. Picking up a fish or two on most of the brush piles and stick ups. Then just like the previous reports said lightning struck. A Texas rigged battle bug hit the water and was engulfed. She wrapped the line around a limb and short lined herself. I had to reach elbow deep into the brush pile and grab her while my partner cut the line. My first DD with PWF. 25 1/8" and weighed 11.2 after calibrating the scales 10 times. I couldn't be happier! There are big fish in the lakes of that beautiful property. I'll ask Seth to post the pic in this report tomorrow. Overall we harvested 24 fish and caught 46 total. Again the chatterbait caught a few but the battle bug Texas rigged was the star.
