We are fishing this lake Friday & they are calling for our first good front to come through.  Looking forward to the potential for much needed rain, but I do have a couple of questions.  We both have 4 wheel drive, any issues getting back to the lake, or are they your standard west texas ranch roads?  Second, any other tips on what to tie on?

Matt,

The roads are not typical west texas roads and it will take you 10 minutes to drive from the entrance of the ranch to lake. The first 1/3 of the drive is flat the back 2/3 is a bit rougher. The description section of the property tells a bit more.

The lake is about 8 feet low, but accessable. Fish the opposite side of the boat launch area to about 1/2 way down that side with crankbaits. Pray for rain.

I have been the Backside Of The Moon once. We had no problem getting to the lake. You won’t even need to use the 4 wheel drive. We had great success on crawfish crankbaits, brush hogs, and jigs. Good luck

You are probably already there, but the top of the hill just after you enter the gate from the road should be the only sticky part with the mud/driving.  The rest of it has plenty of rock.  It didn’t look like they were getting as much rain out that way, but hopefully they do.
