We launched around 6:30 AM and had one of those mornings where almost everything seemed to work. The early topwater bite was excellent, with both the Spook and Whopper Plopper producing our entire time.  As the morning warmed, we switched to plastics and kept catching them on wacky rigs, Texas rigs, and Flukes.

For a 15-acre lake, Maloof fishes much bigger than it looks. There was a great mix of standing timber, grass, points, flats, and deeper water, so it never felt like we ran out of productive areas to explore. We ended up catching 25 bass, with several in the 2–2½ pound range and Sophia landing the biggest of the day at 3 pounds.

The fishing alone would make me come back, but the best part of the trip was watching my daughter have a breakout day. She caught the biggest bass of her life, landed more bass than she ever has in a single outing, and caught her first fish on both topwater lures and soft plastics. This has been my favorite PWF property so far, and it’s definitely one I’ll book again.
