Got to the lake a little late, started fishing a little after 7:00. Clear day, gentle breeze, water was very clear. This was my first time on this lake and had a hard time getting anything going. Finally about 9:00 I got one on a Carolina Rig in the deep water across the lake from the launch point, but didn’t get a good hook set and lost him. Then moved up the long arm of the lake and caught three on the wacky worms in the shade under the trees on the east side. They were all under 14”, but fat, healthy, and good fighters. After that it got hot and couldn’t get anything else. No complaining. Fishing on a hot July morning on a lake you’ve never been to and catch 3 or 4 fish is a good morning. This is a really nice lake and I’m sure on the right day we’ll catch lots of nice fish. Looking forward to next time.

This lake was awesome in February. I went 3 days ago and had the exact same experience.
