Total Fish/Sizes : 39 LMB; 1-5, 3-4’s, and only 7 harvesters. The rest were 2-3lbers. With the majority in the 3+ size.
Lures Used : Soft plastics, mostly senkos, and yes we threw dice!

Disregard the numbers or size of fish we caught for a second. Say what you want but fishing is usually a grind and we weren't that mad at them yesterday. We wanted a day free from our usual brutality approach. 

So first, let's focus on the fishery. There aren't many places that you can go fish “good fishable grass”. Lily pads are forming and the canopy will be here soon. There is a ridge of huge boulders in one area and submerged timber along the way. 
New bait fish recently introduced have made the 2-3lb fish look like little nerf footballs and they are angry and living the gluten life.
Yes, there is water too shallow to fish effectively. But you are on a 60+ acre lake. Not to worry, you aren't hitting the same spots over and over during the course of the day. In my opinion, the owner is definitely on the right track and could potentially add his likeness to the Mt. Rushmore of PWF lake owners. I promise you, there are already big fish in there and they are about to become monsters because of his partnership with PWF’s leadership team. 

Fishing: When the senko bite is on, it's a relaxing day on the water for me. The two hour drive from Denton county put our first cast around 7:30 and we only fished till 2:30. We could have fished longer and racked up some numbers. 
Early afternoon there was a lull in the bite and the breeze and I started hinting that we had already had the perfect day, We  caught fish and got to experience a brief window of where the fish hadn't seen much of the new bait and technique.Throwing the dice will give you the confidence that all of a sudden, you had become a better fisherman again. Let's just say, they pound it (how many remember throwing their first Slugo and that bite)  

I won't bore you with how we were rigging the dice or the variance we used to get bit on the senkos along with the  colors used on each. 🥱
 
The reality is that this lake can feel like it's a long way from Dallas and/or Houston but you should put this lake on your radar.
(Or don’t, give me an opportunity to go back before the fish wise up to new baits)!
