Total Fish/Sizes : 8+ largest 4.5 and just under 6lbs
Lures Used : Spinnerbait
Late start around 8am, fished through 3. Conditions were dominated by heavy wind, which made boat control and presentations tough all day.
They’ve done some gravel work on the last stretch of road coming in, which helped a lot with the mud.
Dam bite was nonexistent for me—fish were positioned in timber and grass. Bite was slow overall, but the fish I did find were quality. Finished with 8+ fish, including a 4.5 and one just shy of 6 lbs.
Spinnerbait was the most consistent pattern, though vegetation (moss/grass) made it frustrating to fish clean. Also picked up a few on chatterbait and a plastic (Ozark rig), plus one early topwater bite.
I’ve been to this lake five times now—there are definitely quality fish here, and it’s a big lake, but the shallow water, moss, timber, and overall size can make it a tough bite.
Key was covering water—no tight pattern, just hunting for active fish.

I would have thought they'd be skinny this time of year, but those look pretty thick. Must be munching a lot of shad in Toby.
