PWF member Bruce Bernard and I fished Harding on a cloudy breezy day that started with some light rain & sprinkles as we drove to the ranch. The lake looks full, water is stained with visibility 1 to 2 ft. The 8 to 15+ mph winds put a good ripple on the water and were welcome as the day warmed to upper 80’s, but generally were not a problem for the pontoon boat.

Fishing action was fast and consistent thru the morning and early afternoon.  It slowed as skies cleared after lunch.  Most fish we caught were in the 1.5 to 4 lb range. All were energetic fighters and many entertained with acrobatic jumps especialy early in the day.  A few of the jumpers fought so well that they threw the hook before gettting them into the boat.  Bruce had by far the best nmbers and the largest fish of the day.

The ranch is well-manicured and a delightful setting.  Our outing was accompanied by chirping birds and exotic animal calls.  Thanks to the club and the landowner for providing us access to such this property.
