Enjoyed the afternoon with my son at Nix Ranch.
We caught 3 bass each total 6.
Water was down 1-2 feet and water clarity was 3-4 feet. Air temp in mid to high sixties and had 10+ winds that died down towards end.
We fished the whole lake and found bass scattered but higher in the water column in the deeper water when fished over or near the structure polls.
We tried several different lures but only caught them with Spinner baits and Rattle traps.
All throwbacks and biggest 2.10 lbs. Bass fought hard and had full bellies.

That sounds like a great afternoon on the water, especially getting to share it with your son at Nix Ranch. Six bass total is a solid outing, and it’s good info noting how the fish were holding higher in the water column around those structure poles.
Spinnerbaits and rattle traps coming through makes sense with the wind and stained conditions, and it’s always a good sign when the bass are healthy and feeding well, even if they’re all throwbacks. Thanks for the detailed report on conditions and patterns, that kind of info really helps other members.
