Ralph Deleonardes and I drove through patchy fog until we were about 5 miles from Thorndale, then we had a beautiful sunny day of fishing. Some moderate breezes through the day but didn’t affect us since we were bank fishing. Lake level is low, probably 4-5 feet lower than the last trip but the water is clear and minimum vegitation. The majority of the fish were caught on light colored worms but we didn’t get any strikes on tried different colors or spinners/topwater lures. The fish were on the smaller size and the ones returned to the lake were just above the 14” limit. The banks are uneven due to cattle and you should be careful walking the lake.

Thanks for the report, and glad the fog gave way to a beautiful day on the water.
Sounds like clear water and low vegetation really narrowed the bite, and those light green and pumpkin worms were the right call given the conditions. Even with the lake down several feet, 9 fish from the bank is a solid outing, especially when other colors and moving baits wouldn’t draw a strike. Good to hear some keepers were right at that 14” mark as well.
We also appreciate the heads-up on the uneven banks from cattle traffic, that’s helpful info for other anglers planning a visit. Thanks for sharing the details, and we hope your next trip lines up with a little more size mixed in.
