Fished the afternoon from the pontoon (holy cow is that thing massive!) with a friend. Cold front was orginally forecast to be the next day, so I was hoping for great fishing, but in true Texas weather fashion, the forecast changed and cold front came through later and our day of great fishing turned into blah fishing. Temp was 80 and water clarity was at 2.5 feet. Found a few shallow, but seems they were out deep and we couldn’t ever find them. Great lake, easy to access property. If I could have attached my electronics to the ponton, we might have caught more but the pontoon is so high off the water, the transducer wouldn’t reach. Finally, it’s apparent the battery indicator on my trolling motor is lacking accuracy. It said we had half a battery so we took one more trip down the furtherest part of the “L” only to run out of battery about as far away from the boat launch as possible. With only one oar between the two of us, we spent about 45 minutes rowing the massive pontoon back to shore. A good laugh and story after the fact, but not as much fun in the moment.
