My son Jon and I hit the water around 8:30 on Friday. First cast from the launch, my son caught a 2 ½ pounder on a white spook, it hit so hard it scared both of us! After that, we knew it would likely be a good day. We boated somewhere around 30 between us…no monsters, just solid 2-3 lb. bass that were very hungry! Most were caught around the island/Beaver nest. Best lures were watermelon/red flake Brush Hogs, white spook, white KVD 1.5 crankbait. This lake may be smaller than most, but it is beautiful and has some mean sob’s that will keep you on your toes. Yes, we will be back. Thank you to the owner for allowing us to fish.
P.S. We were driving a new bad ass Hummer and glad we had it! The launch had huge 2’-3’ ruts all the way into the water where it was almost certain you were going to get stuck!!! Our Hummer sank the back tires to the middle of the rim in the soft mud….we were pulling a 12’ Jon Boat fully rigged out (about 400 lbs. without the motor). I strongly suggest you take a 4x4 if you are launching by trailer. The only thing this place needs is a concrete ramp to make it a 10!
