PWF member David McGinnis and I got out on the lake around 9:00 and fished until noon. We caught around 20 and lost half that many, with the biggest coming in around ~3 lbs. The bite was better early, as is usually the case, with the fish chasing just about everything we threw. We had the most success with chatterbaits, brushhog and silver shad jerk baits in shallow water. Most of the fish were lean and skinny, so culling the little guys will help. It’s great to have a lake this size in the area, especially after we lost Brushy Creek. We will definintely be back!

What happened to Brushy Creek? I just saw today that it was no longer listed. I’m fishing this lake tomorrow.

Ford,

The City of Kyle bought the lake. We are not sure what the plans are for the city of Kyle.
