My wife and I had the pleasure of fishing Little Cypress Farm in Winnsboro on Saturday. This is a great addition to the club and will yield many enjoyable days for or members. The farm has easy access, the lake is beautiful, and the pontoon boat is a bonus. There's also a perfect shade tree and picnic table right by the launch. Lake was full, water was 81F, viz was probably 12IN. Vegetation was sparse so you can use a variety of baits. With a couple of exceptions, all that really worked for us was shad colored lipless cranks in the deeper, southern half of the lake. We landed 31 including 6 crappie. Big of the day was a well proportioned 4.7 that came early in the morning before we even launched. A good day for us is to always “fill the board”, or the 8 bins on our Rapala digital scale with fish over 2 LBS. We did that and more – several good, solid 2.25 to 3.15 lbers and the 4.7. Fishing was good early and cooled off.

P.S. Enjoyed an extended lunch break and I would recommend Z’s Treats and Eats on Main in Winnsboro.
