I fished Wildcat for first time late Saturday afternoon and Sunday.  My son joined me on Sunday.  I stayed in the cabin 2 nights. This made it easier not having to drive home late Sunday night after a hard weekend of fishing. We caught 30 fish with 14 culls. My son caught the biggest at 3 pounds on a 10 inch black worm.

Lure of choice fishing solo on Saturday was a Yellow magic.  Fish were active with many blowups.  Caught 12 in 4 hrs of fishing on Saturday and lost about 4 or 5 more that came unbuttoned.

Water temp: 86 to 89

Clarity: clear to 3 to 4 feet

Hot with a mild breeze both days

While we caught fish all over the lake, the most productive seemed to be the timber area directly across from the cabin, behind the island.  Did not catch anything along the dam.

Nothing on jigs, frogs, Choppo, chatterbait, weedless wacky rig. Was hoping to get a frog bite late Sunday over the lilly pads near the boat launch. No such luck.

Club boat has a leak on the stern that requires bailing once an hour or so, with one person in the boat. It wasn’t as bad a problem with another person sitting in the bow

Cabin was very comfortable and hope to return again soon.  Thanks to the owner for letting us fish his hunting lodge.
