Fished Blue Rock on Wednesday, Sep 19-20. First day, heat was brutal and a mild breeze made boat handling difficult. Fished all day and ended up catching a couple of LM bass over 14 inches – one at 2 pounds an other 3 pounds. Culled 7 LMB. Stopped for lunch and a break from the heat. Went back to fish, but our lithium ion trolling battery malfunctioned and was inoperable. At that point we were so exhausted we decided to call it a day. Not a banner day but we did get to visit with Eric. He is a very nice guy and he gave us permission to visit Salt Lick a short distance away from Blue Rock. He admitted that quarries were a little bit different than lake/pond fishing and said some people find it hard to fish the quarries. Charged the battery overnight but did not take a charge and was still malfunctioning. So there was no boating the second morning but we decided to fish at Salt Lick for a couple of hours. By midmorning it was shaping up to be another brutally hot day and we decided we’d had enough of the heat. My daughter was with me and she caught another two that were over 14” – 2 ½ to 3 ½ pound range and one blue gill. Everything we caught was on senkos, wacky or Texas rigs. Nothing bit on buzz bait, swim bait, poppers, square bills or power worm. Would like to have caught more but had a great outing with my daughter
