First Trip to HSR. I took the entire family with me (another first) this time. We had the entire place to ourselves Sat and Sun morning. Extremely well kept grounds, cabins and equipment. We stayed in Chris’ cabin, which had plenty of room for three kids and two adults. Cabin was clean, had all modern appliances and enough pots/pans to get you through the weekend - Very comfortable.
With three kids under 12, fishing was mostly limited to the docks - My ambition of taking all three in the boat with me was short lived to approx one hour. There is plenty of dock space all around Chris’ and Fishermans’ cabin. We caught a bunch of bluegill and some nice little bass for the kids. In the evening, I put some hot dog chunks on my bass gear and the kids were catching some 3# catfish.
The lake was very full with stained water - it was either due to the rains or a bloom. Was in great shape. I only fished about 5% of the lake, but it looks to be a fun spot to go. There are enough coves and turns to get out of the wind if you need to - Bass Tracker is in great shape.
Can’t say enough about this property - Would like to go back to fish it again.

Great report, Mark. Young children can be a handful on a fishing expedition, but the memories last forever. I still treasure the childhood memories of fishing in flooded forests where the Chazy River flows into Lake Champlain in upperstate New York. I know my dad could have caught a lot more bass if he didn’t have to deal with my brother & myself, as we constantly tangled lines and argued, but I am so glad he took the trouble. Well done!
