Reservation Number : 40842
Property Name : Harding Lake
Reservation Date : 09/02/2024 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 26 / 1 to 4.5 lbs
Lures Used : flukes, worms, chatterbaits

Soft plastics seemed to be the trick. Especially, weighted flukes.  We had fished Red Lake a few weeks ago and had a great day so we decided to try Harding lake. Turned out just as productive. This property is impressive and I will definitely be back for more.

Because of rain storms we were only able to fish the middle of the day and still did well. I tried topwater frogs and buzzbaits but they weren’t interested. Two weeks previous I did well on a toad at Red lake but not this time. Crankbaits are difficult due to grass. There is tall reed grass that lines the entire shoreline and that was where all the fish seemed to be hiding. We just worked the grass line and reeds with flukes and worms and were getting consistent strikes all the way around the bank.

I took my basstracker but discovered there was no ramp to launch so we used the on site pontoon. It’s large enough to seat 2 or 3 and spread out on the deck.It had a 30 lb trollmotor and 3 batteries and 3 pedestal seats. It is possible to hand launch kayaks, though. On windy days it might be difficult controlling it. Without our electronics we weren’t able to see what the middle of the lake was like.  I did have the opportunity to visit with Win the owner and he did mention that he might try to put a ramp in. Very nice gentleman and great host. He’s worked hard at developing these lakes and it shows.

I highly recommend this property. Both lakes are well worth it.
