Fished Moonshine lake in the morning after fishing Acker Lake in the evening before.

Thunderstorm at first light brought lightning and higher winds but passed to the east of the lake.

Caught fish all morning mainly using jigs and crawfish tails but also free lining crawfish tails weedless on worm hooks.

Fish caught near the timber and near and in the lily pads.  Caught numerous good fish at creek inlet on the North side of the lake.  Fish were buried in the lily pads but very aggressive.

Only two of us fishing this morning as one guest could not make the trip as a result of an unexpected family medical issue.

Really appreciated the ability to keep our kayaks on the ranch overnight since we fished Acker the night before.  Thanks to PWF and the landowner to allow us this favor since we were staying off site from the ranch.  

For mid August, a great fishing trip.
