Wife and I fished Salt Lick Saturday and landed 15 bass and 1 crappie. The lake is in really good shape. Pretty much full – little vegetation – nice greenish color with 4 ft viz and 88-90F temps. We tried a variety of hard and soft baits but the bites were sporadic and patternless. If I only had a few hours out there I'd stick to the steeper shorelines on the western and northern shorelines and throw a t-rig right against the shore and feed it some line to let it fall straight down. No bigs or big numbers for us yesterday, but I consider it a bonus to just get out and land some fish at this time of summer. Love all these properties in Wills Point!
