I took my 10-yr old out today, so there was a lot of down time, but we still caught plenty of fish.  There was a lot of algae, but in the holes, the water clarity was incredible.  The algae was bad enough where a trolling motor would have trouble.  We did fine in a kayak.  We switched to bass colored senkos (weedless and no weight) mid-way through the morning and had a lot more success coming off the algae blankets into holes.  We probably could have fished the deeper hole by the dam for larger fish, but we were having fun with volume.  I will be back. 

Also, the landowner was there at 7:30 to open the gates for us.  That was unexpected and very hospitable.  The were very kind to us while they were working the ranch.
