Myself and two other members that have never fished China Lake took our kayaks to the try out the lake Friday morning.None of us has a fish finder  so humps and channels generally remain a mystery  until  an ancor rope tells of a change in debth..The lake is still around full with visibility of 24”. Vegetation is not a problem.

We caught 70 bass and three catfish.The largest two were 6 ¾ lbs and 4 lbs. 34  of the bass were removed. The bass were feeding in shallow water and we caught most of our fish from 10 yrs out to the grass line up until 9:30 am, then they became more difficult to locate. Tx rigs,flukes and wacky worms in wat/seed and wat/red colors were the most consistance. The trees  did not produce as well as expected but did hold fish.
