We started at WildCard, but we realized right away that it was going to be difficult to find many spots from which my son could cast. After a few cast attempts and a close encounter with a snake, he decided the morning was going to be spent at Little A. 
We underestimated the amount of rain received, so getting around the lake was difficult and very wet. Luckily I had a spare pair of shoes and socks in the truck. I failed to pack my son’s rubber boots, but we made due with what I had. See the photo below.

We only fished 3-4 hours, but we caught bass and had a chance for him to practice with some different types of reels. We landed 11 total, with 7 returned and 4 harvested. Everything was on stickbaits and trick worms fished weightless and wacky. We did try other options, but it was the slow soft plastics that produced.

If you intend to fish this property on foot, definitely be aware of the rainfall before your visit. I would highly recommend some waterproof boots.
