Arrived mid afternoon and was concerned after seeing all the storm damage from Paige to Smithville, but the water was in good shape and caught  some culls and one  over slot. Rested a while after the 4 hour drive from Carrollton and then went to Murhpy’s in Winchester to see if their CF steak was as good as their review. It did’t disappoint nor did the strawberry cake.

In the evening the wind was calm so I opted for a clear tiny Torpedo when my clear Pop’r couldn’t be found. The top water action was excellant from culls to around 6 lbs. 

We spent the night in the cozy cottage, and Brenda ( who doesn’t fish ) really enjoyed the accomadations and lovely grounds. 
 

The next morning we awoke to the sounds of the bullfrogs, green lizards scampering around, and deer running across the field.

Caught a few more culls and slots on the torpedo and spinners before breakfast. Later lost a nice one near the dam before we continued on our trip to our place in Lavaca county.
