First visit to Kickapoo and had a great outing. On the water 10am, lake is full and water temp was mid 70s. It was overcast the whole time and comfy air temp 70s to mid 70s with with 5-10 mph most of the time, but was little gusty early afternoon. Started throwing a whopper plopper around the launch area and caught a dink right away. Head out to the mouth of the creek by the tree on the  east side and continued throwing whopper plopper but no takers, switched to chatterbait and caught a nice 2.5lb around the tree. Then decided to move over to the opposite side(west perimeter) and found a group of fish in 4-5ft of water, caught 12 on chatterbait. Continued to cover the west perimeter heading south and caught few more on chatterbait. The bite slowed down by 12:45pm so tried the dam area and caught only one. Took a lunch break 1:30pm then covered the south perimeter with whopper plopper and caught few more. By 3pm got to the small pocket on the southwest and found another group of fish, caught at least 7 on chatterbait. Tried the lily pad with wacky and caught few more. Late afternoon went up to the creek on the northeast and caught few more on whopper plopper. On the way back to the launch area decided to stop by the west perimeter where I found a group in the morning and tried lipless, it reloaded, caught few more. Caught 39 total, most were 2-2.5lb, about a dozen 1-2lb and 7 culled.
