Fished from 7:30a – 4:00p. Little to no wind. Temps in the 80s. Lightly cloudy skies. Water is not as clear as I have seen it but no means muddy. The creek has better visibility than the main lake. Water level is higher than when I went there recently.
Caught most all of the fish in the cliff-side shallows, ~8’ from the shore on wacky rigged 5” and 6” senkos – black/blue & watermelon. Very subtle bites. Tried the frog, TX Rig worm/lizard/creature, and caught a few that way. Lost another ~15 fish from poor hook sets, bass jumping and shaking free, lost right at boat, didn’t have net ready, etc. NO CULLS!
Fished the creek but only caught one or two down there. Fun to see the abundant baitfish swimming around here.
Kept hearing noise near the transom but ignored it and after an hour or two I found myself a field mouse friend who had hitched a ride. Took the little fella back to the boat ramp where it jumped overboard and swam for safety. Kinda nice to have a surprise fishing buddy.
Even with the recent rains the ranch roads are in great shape and not muddy. The club boat transom/drain plug leaks a little.
Love this lake and had a great time wetting the lines today. Thanks, PWF & land owners!
