Fished a warm cloudy day on Wednesday at BlackJack.  The morning was summertime warm in the 70’s and started with some light mist.  Winds were light in the morning but picked up in the afternoon.  Nearly all fish were causght in shallow water, except for one (and only one) that decided to go for a wacky worm, and no other action in deeper water..  Most were in the 12-16” range.  Lake is near full, water clear, heavy weeds in most of the lake.  Although steady trolling was not feasible, motor with 40 lb thrust and weedless prop had no problem pulling the Bass Raider from one area to another, with a little paddling at lauch and in the heaviest weeds. Keeping prop out of the water during drift periods also helped prevent problems.

The ranch is gorgeous as usual, and obviously benefitting from spring rains with lush grass in the pastures.  Thanks to the landowner for making BlackJack available to us.  I appreciated the friendly hello yesterday morning also, and all the pups out for their morning walk.
