Wife and I went to Minor Lake on Saturday 23^rd for an all day fishing experience.  Was really eager to see and fish this lake and it lived up to our expectations.  First of all, a big thanks to the landowner for allowing us and the club to be on the property and fish this fabulas lake. 

Weather was ideal cool to warm.  Arrived at the lake around 9:30 temp was cool at 55 degrees we left the lake around 7:00 pm temp was 72 degrees.  Winds were calm all day which was perfect for topwater fishing around the growing lillypads. Water temperture ranged from 61 degrees early to 66 degrees later in the day.  Fish were very active and strikes were all day long with perhaps a lull from noon to about 2:00.  Most fun fishing with a floating frog watching and waiting for the explosion.  My wife (Leslie) had a lot of luck on the swim jig. The pattern was fishing the edges of the lillypads in 2-3 feet of water on the points with deeper water available, a lot caught in the middle of the pads. Didn’t really catch alot in the shollows back in the creeks.  These fish averaged all day around 3lbs. Was really hoping for that big fish to land but hard to beat this day of fishing.  Missed alot of blowups and lost some good ones at the boat, to the disgust of my wife who lost her biggest while I was getting the net!  Fish are healthly and fighters.  Cought a really nice Black Crappie at the end of the day.  Most fish were caught on the west side of the lake to the right of the boat launch down to the beaver house.  We did have some really good luck on the east side of the lake in the last cove by the owners house.  Look forward to going again soon.
