Pam and I fished Hat & Star Saturday – beautiful (for the fishermen) bluebird day. Outside temps were 55 to 72F with a light N/NE breeze to very calm at times. Water temps were 60 to 65F – lake is full – 4FT viz. H&S was stingy with us today as we could only manage 10 and harvested all 10 (although they are all chunky and healthy out there). We junk fished most of the box the best we could from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM always hoping for that big bite that didn’t come this time. Baits that worked were a shad 3.8 paddletail on an underspin, a black/blue T-Rig curly tail worm, and a white tiny fluke. 

There was bed activity with only small males spotted. Also, spotted a fry cloud. And a couple of 16’’ harversters were full of eggs. So, I guess a mixture of spawn activity. All in all, a very enjoyable day together, in solitude, at a beautiful property!
