We finally made it to San Saba and it did not disappoint.  My son and I got on the water at 9:00 and started along the banks in the North arm.  Boat was ready to go and very spacious.  Whopper Ploppers were the ticket until about Noon.  We then switched to Senkos and the action continued.  The plastics died down around 3:30 and it was back to Whopper Ploppers.  It was pretty windy on the South arm, so mainly stayed in the North arm. We caught a couple on crankbaits working up the North creekbed, but 99% of the bites were within 2’-3’ from shore on topwater and Senkos.  Final count was 48, most in the 2-3 lb. range, with the biggest right at 5 lbs.  We wrapped up at 5:00 to head back to DFW.  Great property and great day – glad we made the trip.  Add it to your list if you haven’t been yet!
