First time out to Briar Branch.  Great experience.

First of all, the lake is about 200 yards from the road so you pull up and you can be casting off the bank 60 seconds after you arrive!

Fished from 2:00 to 5:30.  Wind was higher than the forecast so I got blown around a little bit.  Caugh all the fish from the boat lauch to the dam.  Nothing on the creek inlet side.

Caught fish all over the lake.  There is snot grass along the bank so I mostly fished the open flats.  Stumbled across a brush pile full of crappie.  I feel like I could have sat in that spot and caught as many as I wanted but I was running out of time and wanted to keep exploring the rest of the lake.

I’m convinced you could keep moving around the lake throwing a little crankbait and catch 6 fish an hour all day long.
