I had high hopes and expectations, but I left a bit defeated at Long Lake. Fish finder indicated that there were lots of fish suspended between 7-12ft throughout the day, but even the hover rig could’t get them to bite. 

Just like Sam’s report at Blue Rock, I also threw everything I had. Drop shot, jig, tx rig pit boss, shaky head, deep diving crank, vision 110 jr., lipless, blade bait, hover/dimiki.  Long is a small lake, so I took my time covering pretty much every inch of the place with everything above. Unlike Sam, I didn’t have any lizards and I didn’t think to tie good ol’ tx rig. I thought about rigging a ned rig, but seeing so many fish suspended, I gave it a pass. I think an a-rig would have been a great choice. 

Wacky were the ones that produced almost all the bites. I lost about 4. I had one very pregnant 14incher on the crank.
