We were blown away at Azalea Ranch for a couple of reasons. 1) The ranch and cabins are very cool, and I met the owner Marina who is super nice. She was very complimentary of the PWF staff and all the hard work being done to improve the fishing. 2) As for the wind itself, it was howling all day Wednesday and Thiursday, with gusts easily 40-50 mph. was very hard to get anything consistent, and I’m sure the wind had the fish stagnent. Friday weas a little better as the wind settled down some. I only caught 4 very small bass on sinkos for the visit while fighting the wind. Now that Marina has ordered a boat, that will certainly help for the deeper areas. This lake has lots of potential, but patience is required as we get it up to speed.
