My son and I spent the afternoon at Tara.  Lake was full, water color/clarity was good (15”), and water temps were 54 in the south end, 59 in the north end.  Lots of sun and wind – but the bite was definitely on in the north end of the lake.  All fish came on spinner baits and shallow cranks in 1-4 ft of water around cover.  Biggest and most fish came in the first hour or so, slow mid-afternoon, then picked up again late afternoon.  Can’t remember if there are Florida-strain bass in here, but many of our fish looked like it – fat footballs with lighter color & smaller mouths.  

Overall good numbers and size for Tara compared to previous visits over the past 18 months.  Glad to see the pond full & great to tie into some of these fiesty toads.
